Last week I had the privilege of hosting both the UK Government’s Aviation Minister, Keir Mather MP and local communities in two sessions of community engagement. The two sessions were designed as an opportunity for the Minister to listen directly to communities and understand some of the issues that matter most to them as the Government considers the future policy framework for Heathrow expansion.

With passenger numbers set to rise, new high-capacity, sustainable transport options are essential - from buses and coaches to new rail links. HATF, working closely with CISHA is unpacking how key decisions are made and ensuring community voices are heard.

Every quarter the Heathrow Passenger Forum meets to discuss topical issues which have an impact on the passengers who fly from, into and through the airport, and to raise topics with senior managers and decision makers at the airport which can make a difference to that experience. It is important work, last month Heathrow made history becoming the first major European hub to welcome over 8 million passengers in a single month.
